Regular visitors to this web page (which is to say: no one) will notice that an option has been added to the home page menu: Forestry.  That link (and this link) will take you to a short essay about work I have been doing over the last 12 years in a small, out of the way section of a Vashon park.  It is too late (and/or I am not motivated enough) to change the name of this web site to “Tim’s various retirement pursuits”, so my dear readers will have to accept the thematic dissonance of content related to ecological restoration on a web site ostensibly devoted to things ukulele.  My purpose, as mentioned in post #3, is to create opportunities to write for an (at least hypothetical) audience.  I expect that most of this writing will be here in the blog: describing advances and setbacks, singing songs of trees and sky and fellowship along my trail, etc. Unrestricted by the confines of a ukulele box, I may add more pages.  A page devoted to Dad hacks, for example.  Here’s a sample Dad hack: pour your last swallow or two of tea into your near-empty bowl of yoghurt to: 1. leave no yoghurt behind and 2. enjoy a yoghurt-infused last gulp of tea.
